Character Profile: Kar'n

A hunter of hunters, Kar'n is the oldest (atleast in apperance) of the quartet.

Her skill with a bow and her afore mentioned Talent as a hunter makes her a formidable enemy of the Hounds, the Archduke's Troopers and other creatures of the Mirror Realm.

Of all her virtues, she is lacking but one: Mercy.

One arrow, one kill. Anything else is waste and it will take a strong heart to stand in her path, if vengence is on her mind.

back again

It's been a long time since I posted on this blog.
The novel has undergone an edit and will be checked over plenty more times until I'm happy with the results. In the meantime, and to assist my own motivation on the project, I'll put up artwork by Samual M. McCann, as well as anything else which springs to mind on the novel.

Character Profile - REKS

Reks doesn’t know how old he is.

Living in the Mirror Realm, among the ruins of the reflection of Portbank, he fights to survive in the ash-filled wasteland. A frightening array of creatures and the Archdukes Troopers only add to his daily struggle to find food and keep safe in the heavily damage school.

Skilled with his lasso, Reks also possesses a very useful Talent; he can move inside reflective surfaces, between the real world and the Mirror Realm. It is this Talent he puts to use in a rather questionable act, after news reaches him about the fate of an old friend.

Character Profile - CHUCK

Chuck is a ten year old boy living in the town of Portbank. He stays with his parents and little sister, Gwen.

His family only recently moved to the small town for reasons he isn’t fully aware of. Since then, having lost his friends and everything he knew because of this move, Chuck’s began a new school and is doing what he can to deal with the changes.

Changes which have become more extreme, unsettling and just plain strange since he took that fateful walk down The Hall of Mirrors.

A Proposed Front Cover

This is a proposed front cover for The Rescue. It was created by the Very talented Stephanie Bruce, a local artist and current art student in Glasgow.

It was one of around a dozen covers that were produced as part of an art and design project. Stephanie's cover captured the novel in an unusual, but compelling way, with the textures seemingly three dimensional. The decision not to use mirror related imagery was also very different and in contrast to many of the other covers and of the story as a whole.

If your inclined to judge a book by it's cover, then you must surely be looking favourable at The Rescue.
